China to Convert Phone Booths to Wifi Hotspots

—via paramendra:entrepreneuradvocate

“With mobile phones nearing 100% market penetration, the Chinese government appears determined to transform the country’s widespread telephone booths into wifi hotspots.”

Challenging the status quo through innovation in the mobile infrastructure.

vruz: you have to be hopeful this will bring an awful lot of innovation closer to the people. you have to be naive to believe the chinese government won’t be spying on every mobile device, knowing exactly what you’re doing and where you are.
