The Great Wall of Egypt, underground. You can’t see it, it’s not there.
—via unburyingthelead:hushpoint:
The US Army Corps of Engineers designed, then sold an “impenitrable” steel wall to Egypt, to be installed along the Egypt-Gaza border. The wall is 10km long, & extends about 18km underground.
The apparent aim is to cut off the underground tunnels that Palestinians use to transport goods into Gaza, which is under a total international blockade (which is an act of war, incidentally). The blockade is in response to the election, conducted under an illegal occupation, of a Hamas majority.

vruz: I call this a Henry Ford style of democratic expression: Palestinians, you are free and all is nice and democratic as long as it’s a kind of freedom and government that we like and approve of.
